the fun part for them in this game is every time they toss another wrench in the gears there is a few more FTA'ers that say "enough is enough" and sub. Truth is they probably get more subs from disgruntled FTAers than they do by advertising on cable ... so like PB said they love the game

If one is discouraged from going down. then the sat providers are winning the game. & also they are compelled to continue what they are doing.

Their job would obviously be to maintain security (IOW keeping freeloaders from viewing) as continually as possible. Just WHY they haven't been doing this from day one is beyond me.

Kinda like riding on a free WiFi signal (to get on the net) until they WEP encrypt it, lol.

If D/N or BEV gave up then everybody would get a FTA setup going and even subscribers would drop. They would lose too much money not to keep putting ECM's out. Everytime they do they watch a hit in their Subs go up as fed up FTA people say screw it and SUB. Just my .5 cents

1, they will NEVER give up, (if you had a farm with a chicken coop and a fox kept getting to your chickens would you just give up and let the fox have your chickens?, or would YOU try to stop the fox?,),

2, your statement of "they can't keep us down." is WAY off base, right now yes they are having problems keeping us down, HOWEVER a cardswap could EASILY shut us down (with bev starting to switch cards DN MAY not be far behind),
a GOOD example of what a cardswap or stream change can do is DTV when they switched from the Hu to the P4/D1 cards, (you DON'T see alot of DTV tal anymore do ya?),
and also look at DN when they changed the stream format from N1 to N2, we we're down for a few months on that one,

they WILL eventually get a handle on it and WILL eventually mae it harder to decrypt their signal, it's ONLY a matter of time, who knows?, we MAY wake up tomorrow and it could be gone forever, NO I'm NOT one of those "doom-n-gloom" ppl, I've just been in this hobby long enough (many yrs. actually) to understand the REALLITY of this hobby, and it CAN and HAS changed ALOT in the last few yrs., actually ALL they would have to do is change from a DVB format to a DSS format like DTV and ppl WOULD be skrewed,

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE what DN or bev can do, like I said, bev is about to shake thingz up with their upcomming cardswap and (as history shows) DN MAY follow bev's lead,....

i hear that the top 6 fta manufactors are considering giving your choice of receiver to any dn subscribers that drop their sub. to dn. reason is they the subs. are being totally ripped off by the corp. along with this comes free tv also. this is to start april 1 2008. what a way to screw up dn and throw a monkey wrench into their system.
