Adding Card Reader to Coolsat How2
Installing the Coolsat Card Reader
Tools required:
Phillips Head Screwdriver
Piece of Card Board from X2 Box
Parts Supplied w/ Reader = Reader & 2 Screws
1. Disconnect Receiver completely from setup of cables and power.
2. Keep in contact with receiver while performing this task. Avoid shuffling your feet on the carpet too, or letting others play tag with you until you're finished. (keeping grounded is wise.)
3. Remove 3 black screws from cover at rear of receiver, then one from each side of receiver cover.
4. Remove cover.
5. Open Card Reader Door on face plate of reciever and you will notice a "card blank" in what you would expect to be a slot. This is to be removed by squeezing the 2 angled clips on the inside behind the card reader door and pushing and pulling the blank out. Mine required some wrestling.
6. Card Reader will be mounted with the black card slot facing up and steel frame down. (Mine reads with a label "HYOSUNG".) You will notice an available mount on the floor of the receiver for the Card Reader to fasten. Also there are 3 dimples and a screw hole on the opposite side of the reader. These dimples will mate up with three holes on the side of the receiver chassis. One supplied screw to the floor mount, one to the side wall of the receiver chassis.
7. Tear off one flap of cardboard from the X2 box, and fold it in half. Gently slide it beneath the mainboard under the port for the card reader cable. This technique will add support to mainboard while plugging in reader cable. Gently and patiently insert cable (only fits in one direction, notice bevelled corners) by rocking some end to end. DO NOT push too hard you could crack the main board). Remove Cardboard support.
8. Replace Cover, replace screws.
