here is a c/p of add sell tsop that will convert a xtreme to a homesat.

"UP FOR BUY IT NOW AUCTION MX 29LV160 48 PIN TSOP LOADED WITH THE FACTORY HOMESAT FLASH IMAGE. THIS TSOP CHIP CAN BE USED IN AN ORIGINAL HOMESAT RECEIVER OR IN ARIZA XTREME FTA.

WILL WORK JUST LIKE A REAL HOMESAT WHEN INSTALLED IN AN ARIZA EXTRME"

if this can be done for under $20, why can't i find any threads relating to the conversion?

if this can be done will a homesat remote be needed?

thanks

no the ariza remote is the one to use.

just like with the homesat. the homesat also uses the same ariza remote. after all it is the same reciever except for the TSOP.
