Thanks for the info.. However, it doesn't work.. I did it two ways, thinking maybe one would be right.. I turned the unit on, til "on" came up, then wrote the bin at you stated in number 5.. My pc screen said it was downloading but saw no evidence of it.. then an error came up... write failed ER1.. so I shut it down.. the other way I did it, was at first "B" i booted up, and wrote bin.. still nothing but error...I think it said EO1. all cables are connected and all files are unzipped.. any other suggestions, please??????

sounds like a cable issue. can you write anything? mine did that, and i had to change the cables com port. are you sure you have the right cable, and which loader are you using?

I'm using the same cable I've always used.. Not sure what it is.. whats the diff between null and strait cable?? The loader is bl 1.4.. The box turns on, does b 7 5, then 75, then ON.. It will not take in any bin files.. or boot files for that matter.. I've read that as long as it comes on, that I will not have to Jtag.. is that true?? Don't have the right cable for that, I'm sure...

okay, you need a straight thru serial cable. Here (http://www.dssgeeks.com/forums/fta-receivers-update-t31025/index.html)
is a list of boxes and the cables they use. and yes, it came on, so no jtag will be needed, just the right cables and loader. on what box did you use the cable you have? check the list and make sure its the right one.
