new bin file erased all my channels

i installed a new bin file and my channels were all erased, i tired a scan for channels and i got channels that were not the same as before
help

when you installed latest bin did you wait for it to finish loadding and then power off on rear switch,when you scanned sats are they the same as you scanned last time.Do you have more,less or different channels or did you not sort by sid because the channels will have diffirent #'s if you did not.
