Is there anything else that I can do to load the factory file to my coolsat 6000. I steel keep on getting the message connect your receiver and turn it on. I tried over an hour by clicking the connect tab and clicking the on button on the receiver within a spit second and still won't load. Is my receiver ready to go to the trash? Please give some advise.

It sounds like a serial cable issue. Are you using the cable that came with the unit. Have you got multple com ports on your PC? Is the cable plugged into COM1? Try leaving the CS6000 off until you have the PC set up initialized and waiting for a response back and then power on the cs6000.

I know for a fact that is not a serial cable issue. I use this cable to load other receivers like 4000 ,5000 ,6100 and just this box has this problem. In fact I tried other cables and nothing. I checked the pins inside the receiver but they also look good. Any other suggestions. Thanks.

i am having the same problem with one of my cs6k. I know its not a cable issue cause i use that cable to progam my other one also. Sometimes it starts to load and then it says load failed after about 50%

delete the file your trying to load an download it again . it sounds like a bad or corrupt file

I've got the same problem with mine. Keep on getting the "connect your receiver" bit. I know it's not my cable because I can still load my obsolete fortec stb.
I've tried reloading the default firmware, even accessing the diagnostic page through pressing the channel up button with the on button, and clearing the memory. Doesn't help.
I think my last bin (168) contained some sort of stb killer; in this case, it seemed to disable the serial port.
