Does anyone have information on how to Jtag a Captain 8000? I have tried everything possible on all the web sites from trying to load the factory file, and I use the latest loader. It shows progress on the computer screen but it will not download to the receiver. It will say donot disconnect the cables and it will set there for a week if you let it. I have done a factory reset and still nothing. I have tried a new null serial cable and still nothing. I have loaded files on this receiver many times before and now it will not load a file at all. I am thinking it will have to be Jtaged to get a new file on it now. I have Jtagged pansat receivers before. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks rustbucket :)

I tried this and it said it completed but it went real fast, and it said the program would close. I left it there for 2 hours and it still did not do anything. THANKS for the comeback I will try again on some other files.

Already tried that, The USB stick blinks on and off when I power up, but it will not even give me a menu on TV to use the USB. I really think that the only way to straighen out this receiver is to Jtag it. Or throw it away. Thanks anyway I will try anything on this receiver.

Power on the STB from the front when the word BOOT appears on the STB
press and hold the Menu button on the STB until USB Download appears on the TV then release the menu button.

Here is what i did to fix...
I connect the box to TV and inserted USB.. I kep playing with Power off and Front On/Off button... and luckily, It recogonized the USB..

First I Flashed factory bin
Second I Flased the lattest bin

Key to the whole thing was to recognize the USB by Power off Switch and Pressing On/Off Switch.

THANKS I finally got it to work just like you said. I put the old 649 file on it and it seems to be working great. Thank you for the information. It will now only let me download a file with the USB stick. It will not let me use the null serial cable but who cares at least it is working. Thanks you again. just_angle
