I was wondering if anyone has tried to convert a Coolsat 6000 into a Coolsat 6100..I have seen others converted was just wondering if this is possible..?
Pansat25A was converted to 2700A it had less memory.
I just bought my coolsat 6000 1 week ago now i hear talk on no support.
How can Coolsat 6000 still be selling boxes . I just dont get this.
Hope to hear from some help with this problem.

not that i know of in regards to box conversion.
I assume Coolsat is no longer making or selling the boxes but I do imagine there are a number of dealers till sitting on large inventories.
and the reason dealers are still selling them is because people fail to do any homework and are just impulse buying. It really has been no secret that support for the 4000, 5000, and, 6000 models has been next to non-existent for a long time.
As for the coolsat models still getting support... I wouldn't give them $10 for a truckload of their top end boxes.
When support is dumped on some models in favor of other ones it is obvious that manufacturers could care less about their customers but are having a love affair with their wallets at the same time.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee people.....you see support dropping on one model that is a good indicator to start looking for another brand

Try adding some commands in the hex editor to think the 6000 has a USB slot. :D

Truck, it's 32bit Processor (133Mhz), just checked with info and it comes with next:
Coolsat 6100 adds 32mb RAM compared to the extremely popular Coolsat 6000 Premium. It comes equipped with a USB 2.0 host support for easy software upgrade.
Sorry for late answer, anything else?:noclue:
the only reason the 2500 to 2700 works is because the are basically the same box with different memory amounts. inorder to clone one box to another, they would have to have the same hardware for their to even be a change. since the 6100 has usb and the 6000 doesnt, there would not be a chance as previously stated
