View Full Version : Where is Coolsat Support????

:(I have become very disappointed in Coolsat! Why are all the other mfg. up and running and no support for Coolsat? I have two CS 7100's that have been great until now. I just installed a new super dish for more performance that took me over two weeks to get aligned, and when I finally got that done, I can't use it any way. I hate to give up my CS, but is there another mfg. that has better support? Does anyone know what has happened to NORW?

Dude, you might want to look into sonicview or viewsat, they have allways supported all their products coolsat used to be pretty good but they just keep getting worse, and if they do come out with a fix it will probably last a day or less , they are way off their game, I think they are on the ropes and their last legs. No support = no sales= no money= no coders I have several of the 6000 series and as far as I am concerned they are boat anchors

That's the thing.... i think other STBs have something to do with this down time of CS... may be they paid coders to "not to release the fix" so ppl will buy another brand and their sales might go up..... just a thought

Cs Norw has for the past several weeks has put out the same notice that they are working on the bins and that they have moved for security reasons. Many persons who are suposed to know say that this is not the real reason, but no one seems willing to part with the facts (facts that can be verified). Additionally, Cs/Norw has done nothing over the past 2 weeks by way of providing a temp fix or a definitive statement as to their intentions or current situation although they must be aware of the many rumors/facts being circulated in the FTA community. I personally believe their silence may be a ploy on the part of CS to continue to be able to sell boxes they have already produced with full knowledge that they may not wish or be able to continue production or support in the future (saying they only sell the boxes for true FTA) and with the advent of N#3 may be able to get away with it by in the end claiming They are only a FTA box. They may also claim that others writing files for their boxes in the "Grey area" is not their their problems and are are due to N#3. I believe their statement/banner (on their Norw_Group Site the same banner has been up for over two weeks with only the date being changed) is in no way the complete (if any part of) the truth or the reason new support files have not been provided to the CS box owners. If it is they have made a very bad customer relations/marketing error that they now may not be able to recover from (and someone of their business background should know better). Respectfully . . .

Im very suprised that CoolSat manufacturer treats their customers uncivilized like this. They sell their products and then betray customers without any excuse ! Just silence and quit . shame on CoolSat

You are probably right. I would save my cash and wait. But keeping with the thread, I love my 7100 and if/when a fix comes out, I will go back to it. I do have a couple of SV's for backup, but the PVR functions aren't too reliable, which my wife promptly let me know about when one of "her shows" didn't record.:noclue:

Already posted in rumour section, but there is something fishy going on. They (NorW-group) original coders left, CS has never been the same. Only limited receivers now.

Don't take this the wrong way but if you just bought one (I am sorry for your loss) you should have done your homework.
Nothing is forever in this business. Remember that a months worth of "premium service" would have paid for the cost of most stb's.
Besides, you still get the NASA channel. All you really need. Don't ya think?

Whatever the reason, I was loyal to them. But it seems that each year, they always have issues in terms of support and delay releases. I'm just waiting for confirmation that N3 has truly been cracked in which I will switch over to viewsat.
NORW web site uses excuses of server relocation and change, but I've been doing trace routes and whois lookups on them since they started their new web site and nothing has changed physically.
Ironic part is that if you go to their web site, it says that the server is busy... BUT.. if you click on the 'archive' link on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and scan through their links such as 'Site News', you can see from message post dates that 'some' people are able to login and post messages, which leads me to believe that they have turned on selective account access... So the users that you read from the latest posts are either close friends/relatives or the mods themselves.. And you can distingwish which is a mod or not considering that one of their links gives you a break down of all their mods on their site.

My 7100 was up for almost 12 hours before it started freezing again. Although I have been having problems with my damn switches in the attic so it might not be the program. ANy one else getting alot of freezing?
