Load the factory file and the current file the **CABLE** way and see if your usb functions come back

It will turn blank for a few minutes. Are you pressing the green button on your remote control to record.

i have done factory reset and loaded file(i haven't tried the factory file yet though but i will) it will only load with cable if i put anything into the usb it's just like it's not there it doesn't pick anything up at all

Try this it way work for your problem but instead of using the cable use the USB works the same. You need to shut off the power switch on the back of the unit first.

Now with your Thumb of your left hand HOLD IN THE POWER BUTTON .. AT THE SAME TIME WITH YOUR OTHER HAND .. POWER ON THE CW800 FROM THE BACK.

Hold the power button approx 2 seconds more after it powers up .. and then you can let go and the "BOOT" should stay on by itself.

Now take your NULL CABLE and attach it to the back of the CW800.

On Loader Browse and Select the Latest BIN ( Make sure its Unziped) in my case since I just got this box yesterday I chose 1-18-08 bin.

I loaded this bin file into the Loader ... selected COM PORT 4 on loader..

Download S/W should be selected on Loader...

Now click START .. the 0% should start counting up .. to 100% when it finishes you will see "END"

Now you should be done.

Unhook the cable from the box ..

Power the CW800 OFF from the back .. take it back to the TV and Hook the antenna back up and wire it to your TV..

Power the unit on ... and you should see the unit now start to Boot Up as It Should .. it did for me ..

I went to many sites searching high and low .. seen people that had my same problem .. they all posted the same questions I was asking my cat sitting next to me staring at me with that YOU DUMB FU*K Look .. anyways .. all the threads I found with people asking for help went unanswered ...

so here is my HELP to you and others that might experience this stuck on "BOOT" problem .. I almost was ready to chaulk a dead box up on the board but its running fine now.

Hey
You have not said anything about connecting your HD into the system
Their is a possibility that the USB cabling and the HD cabling is in series and they depend on each other

If you have not put back the HD - try it

Have you trying another hard drive? Some hard drive are not compatible. I notice that a lot of people are complaining about Western Digital and Simple Tech. Perhaps try to format your hard drive with NTFS. The CW800S supports both fat32 and NTFS.

Is your CW800 still under warranty? You you still have time left in the warranty, you should sens it back to the factory for repair.
