Now I need some help on how to set this up - I have not ever set up or prgrammed a SV, but it seems to be the way to go now. How? Instructions seem strange to me - I did try it, but nothing happened.
Can someone PLEASE help this SonicView Dummy get these up and running?:noclue:

It ain't much different than any other receiver.
Not sure which coolsat you had but this receiver comes with a USB slot for loading files.
When you download files from this site, you can now extract them to a USB memory stick and load it to your SV with no loader or cable needed

Setting up your sats will be similer to your coolsat.
Look at what settings you used on your coolsat and do the same for your SV.
Then just run an autoscan for channels

Are you guys using the remote to do all of this? Dumb ? I know, but I haven't opened it yet - guess I need too!
Do you hook it up to the TV & SAT before doing anything?
On Coolsat we had to use cables & upload Factory Flash first then upload the current working bin. The way I'm reading this - you do everything with it hooked up and use the USB Flash Drive with this one...??

OK guys - I hooked it up to TV - nothing of course.
I went to Menu - but where is PVR? I have nothing to "CHOOSE" from...There's nothing on my screen/TV but static.
I inserted the usb to the front - nothing.
So what am I doing wrong???
I have it hooked up by the 3 plugs - I don't have the other colors for the PVR yet or do I need other ones? I sorry but I am SO lost right now!

OK - got picture on TV; I can get to the 'tree' and see where PVR/USB is at now.
Where do I get "Sat info" from Al Bundy?
Headed to work but will check back around 5:30pm.
I do appreciate the help.

I'm home now and I'm determined to get this thing going tonight!
Thanks for your help - I'd already printed out the pages you have suggested - just have to go really slow nowadays. I may be back if this doesn't work - for me that is.
Thanks again!

OK - on the Coolsats I scanned Sattelites 119 & 110 - what are the names of those on this Sonicview? There are so many and I don't know 'names'.

Well, I can't hook up the others till I get more RF Modulators - but it's always soemthing ain't it! I do appreciate all the help from you guys! My learning curve is VERY low for now. Hopefully next surgery on the 19th will help it improve.
I'd still like to know which Sat is 110 though.

I have learned so much just messing around with this thing! I have a pic on 2nd TV but no sound/color - I have it running to TV through DVD/RW. I have to put TV on AUX to even see it - should be channel 3. Any suggestions.
I also found that if I hit OK when searching for a Sat - it shows which is which and I found 110 that way - It's the little things that get me!
Now I'm trying to use the PVR - I followed instructions in manual - set up Event Timer for 6pm for 'Vanished' ...nothing. I will have to mess around with that also wont I?!

Try going into setup menu options, and make sure your video settings are correct. Make sure in the audio button on the remote, it has not selected dolby audio, or you will get no sound. Just a tip, had to mess a lot with my 4000, great stb. Was former coolsat fan, not now, no support, changed to sonicview, really glad I did!:)

Absolutely! PVR functions/capabilities are built-in, storage capacity is not. Ext.hard drive or usb flash drive are necessary.
