Dongle Bin to Non Dongle Bin

Hello All,

I am very new to the whole satellite thing, but I have a Captain 8000HD STB and a Dongle.

I have uploaded the latest Dongle Bin (May 18 2008), however, I get a lot of freezing and unscramble channels. It was good last week and before, but now thats all I seem to get.

I noticed that there is another bin out for STB's that dont have dongle attached (July 11th 2008). I tried uploading bin, however, I get zero quality and dongle light stays red.

Can someone explain to me the process of how to use that bin If I have a dongle. I read the following but dont know what "A/R" means and how to go about the process:confused:. What is "AR" and the process.:confused: Do I unplugg dongle? What are the neccessary steps. Please explain. TIA

For the latest bin release you cannot use the Dongle it is for standalone only. As for the freezing, I had same issues with the Dongle but I used the Dongle repair at the top of the sticky's and solved all my issues. Nor freezing and T.V. working great. Latest bin works fine as long as you do not use a dongle.

I will follow the instructions on how to do the Dongle repair, however, I have read them, and they arent that eash to follow (i.e. the use of the english language, but I aint complaining)
