Dreambox Dm-7000s dv3

I`ve got a friend that has one and wants me to look at it but ive had other people tell this box is dead I`ve messed around with them a little in the past with little luck just hate to waste my time if its a dead item any suggestions , dm-7000s dv3 , it has gemini project loaded,Gemini_270_DM7000_26012006.img any answers greatly appreciated?
