just bought an 8100, love my 7100, having problems

hi all, hopefully someone can help me. i just recieved my 8100. i have the factory files, and all, but when i turn my box on, it will show on screen for a few seconds and turn off. i have checked the power cords, and nothing is wrong. it just seems it doesn't want to stay on. is there something im doing wrong?

If this is a NEW reciever, send it back . It's broke ! If it's not new, then setup the loader for a file download to the receiver, before you turn it on, and try to load the factory bin.

ok, on my flash drive, i have the factory bin, and the latest file. do i just try the file first? it will bring up the world pic, and then flashes off, then on, then off. i cant bring up the menu either. i read the book, and to my understanding you load this just like the 7100.

Sorry i don't have one of these, but sounds like the file isn't loading. Have you tried loading the latest file, or tried the loader instead of your USB stick. Thought i read somewhere about renaming file first..bin to sgn or something.

Have you tried the 7100 on that same cable and LNB if the 7100 works on that cable and then you know the LNB and all is good then maybe is the power supply is no good in the 8100. I have a n 8100 and the last problem I had was it would completly freeze up and I fixed it by turning the power off in the back and back on then pushing menu as soon as it loaded up and then did a factory reset. If you can not keep it on I would return it and get another one . Not much of a help but thats all I can think of.
