Dish Network subscribers, you now have on-air access to the region's news leader.
As of Thursday evening, KBTX is available on Dish Channel 50, the culmination of weeks of work at both KBTX Media and Dish to get the signal up and running.
Tens of thousands of subscribers in Central Texas can now watch KBTX programming, including the award-winning News 3 news team's casts.
KBTX Media General Manager Mike Wright has spent the last few weeks blogging at KBTX.com about the progress to make News 3 available.
"We express gratitude to Dish in working with us on this project, enabling KBTX Media to carry the message of the Brazos Valley to tens of thousands of homes new to the KBTX family," Wright blogged.
"All of us share in the challenges of this economic climate," Wright continued. "KBTX, with our new partnership with Dish Network, has increased the value of our product to advertisers and public service agencies that count on their message being received by the largest number of people possible."
