Downloaded the 3.02 boot by Gugi47,it comes up in loader as,"This file is not a software file". Any suggestions on this would be helpful.

what loader are you using?
and did you decompress the cx-loader3.02 file b4 loading it? after all it is a winrar compressed file.
and if so what is the extension of the file after decompression? .exe . .bin , .rar .. .zip

The file cx-loader3.02.rar was unzipped with winrar. Loader 1.02 for the classic is being used,I have tried all the loaders going all the way back to the summer bins and the orange bins (skyview). It could be that Im missing something very basic.

summer bin and orange bins? We are talking about for the captiveworks 650s receiver right? Most all bins and loader don't interchange with other boxes.. you can make a electronic paper weight doing that.

Labyrinth,I really appreciate that your taking the time to look at this issue. The classic loader is no doubt the 1.02,the other loaders I used were just done out of curiosity,I started out with the ST-1000 so Im not foolish. Have you tried to download the image to look at the results?

bin will not load in the 650s loader... post is now unapproved ,,, thanks for you assistant
in this matter, did not consider you foolish, but if I don't ask I don't know, as there are many mistakes that can the made and I have to rule them out.... no offense... we will look into this further and post another soon as possible

Labyrinth,I may have been a little smart ass on my part using foolish,apology offered.
Notepad shows 3.01 and 3.02 to be almost similar in design.

i am trying to program my captiveworks 650s and my laptop ports are com 8 but the loader i am using only goes up to com 6. any help.
