Following Guide 122 provided in stickies.
Current System Info:
SW MV05.08 CNX (Oct 09)
HW Ver: 1.00
USB 2.0 DRIVER: 1.00
DUO/TRIO (4)
Trying to load upgrade DTP 2.36- when I get to the "select upgrade mode" screen my choices are:
S/W Upgrade
S/W + ALL Data Upgrade
Boot Loader Upgrade
CANCEL
I selected S/W upgrade as the guide instructs and the unit hangs.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Loser Sir Bods.

Shut the receiver OFF from the back, wait 10 seconds or more, Turn it back ON and see if it still hangs.

Used power switch at back- off for 5 min- tried to upgrade- hung again at the "select upgrade mode" screen- with the "S/W Upgrade" selection still highlighted- did not load at all. Have to power it down from the back to get it un-hung.
(Am able to receive FTA channels from Sat 97, scans for Bev and Dish OK- lots of channels but no TV)
Plan B?
With thanks

try loading 2.31 as bootloader then load 2.36 as bootloader then reload 2.36 as s/w and rescan should fix your problem if that doesn't work try loading the 5.10 factory and repeating the previous steps i listed.

Just so I don't screw up- should I need to load factory 5.10- do I do this as a bootloader?

you should always load the latest factory file to avoid bin problems and yes factory files are always to to be loaded as bootloader. once you get 5.10 loaded you should be able to load new bin to be safe i would load it twice once as bootloader and then again as s/w
