I have a 360 elite & 8000HD. using dish 500 with two single lnb I was running 2 cables to each lnb for 110 & 119 and two sw21 spliters. I tried to clean it up and bought a 34dp muliti switch. It worked for about an hour then both recievers went to no signal. So I went back to orginal set up still no signal. Could the 34dp mess up the lnbs? They are only about 2 months old. I would appericate any input.

Sounds like it is the switch since they were both working before you changed it this is just my opinion unless someone knows different

You may not have the propriet power to make the switch to work right. I suget to use a diseqc switch. I post here 2 for you. I sugest the Ecoda, but the Chieta its a good switch to. Good luck.

run a cable straight from the lnb to the receiver to test. switches should not burn out lnbs

sv's put out low power so my guess would be not enough power could be an issue however checking the cables may by the solution as it's possible you have a bad cable comming from one of the units thus causing a power issue also i have noticed that sv's tend to have issues with sw21's though it is strange that it was working that way before and won't now.

I got both receivers working. 1 cable was bad. I put it back with the sw21 switchs. Dose anybody know if the muliti switch use a differnt type of LNB?

That switch must have DP lnbs. I ran into the same problems of no signal, but as soon as I installed DP lnbs the problems vanished. And DemonDawg is right about the power issue, you might have to add a power inserter to your switch. I do not know for certain if this switch has one or not. Maybe a moderator can help with that.

what are DP LNBs or how can you tell? Also how could I see if this switch has a power inserter?

Ya know, I'm not sure how well a power inserter works with legacy.
A DP always says "DP" or "DPP" (DPPlus) on it. Legacys say Dish Network on them.

The power inserter comes with a DPP44 switch, but you can use it with a DP34. Google it.
Your cheapest option is to get a DP quad lnb. Then you'll have signal going to both tuners on the Elite and a signal going to the SV8000, plus an extra output for future expansion. Since you're in Cali, I would think craigs list has 'em real cheap.

DP34 switch will work fine with single LNBs. Run 1 cable from each LNB ( I put then in numerical order lowest to highest according to port ). So 110 would go to port 1 and 119 to port 2, or in my case I got 91 to port 1 , 110 to port 2, 119 to port 3. Only thing with DP34 switches is that you need to have both IRDs turned on at the same time to keep the switch powered.
