Kkid and Eillen you should both know better. The files all come from a smaller group for all stbs lately. Pick and choose as you may. To pose a threat means little, to speak your mind means little. Files will come, but VS sucks with the future.

truckman, I don't post here or anywhere else very often but I just can't stand the censorship here and elsewhere whenever folks mention anything slightly negative concerning coolsat. This testing thing is just that "testing", some of us have tested the coolsat 4000, 5000, 6000 and have decided that they are no longer the brand/model we will choose to continue testing. From what I've witnessed lately the aforementioned brand/models are no longer worth the gamble, I typically would not mention that here I'm not that interested in the whole F.T.A. thing but..... this is ridiculous, no one can have an opion on and state it in here if it doesn't mirror what admin feels without a ban, closed thread, or a stop whining warning?!
I wish only that folks who spend more time involved in and know more about this and other brands of F.T.A. can freely state their opinion so cats like me who don't have the time can read some opinions and make a better decision on our next purchase - hmmm, kinda the same way I came across the coolsat some time ago.
Still love me some free t.v. when I can get it and places like this that make it possible but don't threaten my free speech thing because I don't agree with you, politely.

I don't understand the censorship complaint. If you read what is available on this site you will quickly understand what represents the best buy. All you have to do is review the file section to see who supports what and how fast. There are several places that have reviews of equipment. My coolsat is soon to be an anchor but it has served very well. But, I recognized that an upgrade was necessary. My vs works great and the support is great. However, it may be time for another upgrade and this site has told me everything I need to know for my next buy.

yep my coolsat is a paper weight i already ordered a nfusion throwing the coolsat out and bought a totally different receiver - would not think of buying a new updated coolsat with their lack off support coolsat did its job for past 2 years and its now a dino

We often tend to critize STB makers and coders but the original job for these boxes was first hand FTA not freebee TV but....

I have a Coolsat 5K myself and a recently acquired NFusion . The Coolsat I had it for 3 years until it went Knight Rider last evening.Couldn't get it to come out of it....
Like you, I also noticed the slowdown with bins coming out even for top of the line models they make...The problem is with the lack of Good coders and not the support.
Most Norw coders went with Nfusion . And to make matters worse, B3V and Charlie have created Algo MECM's that not even their own people understand...

And regarding censorship on FTA rcvrs, if you look up, you will find sponsors up there that pay for this forum. So it wouldn't be right to let people criticize the hand that feeds you right ? No sponsors = no forum...No forum= no resources.

When I lost support for my two previous receivers, I just went out and bought me a new one...That's all..:)
