I finally got this to take. Took about 15 minutes to roll for BV and about 5 for DN.

You need to be very careful and follow RBBB's instructions. Also get all your files lined up so you know where you are.

Thanks for all you assistance last night when I had a brain fart. LOL we were very tired but RBBB was willing to help as long as I wanted. I gave up and started again tonight.

Not trying to be funny here khubb but go over it all real careful be sure you have everything organized to start. Read and read again. It is confusing but if you take care you can follow it through. Don't rush it. Go slow and steady and it will work. Good Luck.

Hi There,

I did convert Ariza 700 to Pansat 2700 as per the instructions. Everything went well. When I start Blind scan it finds 8 TPs in Horizontal then TV goes blank. After a minute it starts scanning channels, find some channels and I can see the progress. While scan was in progress TV went blank again. I see only 8s on the display and remote is not responding. I turned the switch at back off and on still it shows blank screen. I have 2 dishes. First on 97W and the other 121W. Could anyone please me to fix it?

Appreciate any help. I am not sure if this request needs to go to Pansat forum.

Try doin a factory reset and then blind scan remote should be workin fine unless u skipped a step somewhere

restart the process by jtagging fact bin back onto the unit... then follow every step precisely as to what rb said to do.

By the way, for factory bin I used VorteX 2700 Factory Flash.bin file(from folder 'JKeys for erasing and writing') for jtag and 2700.bin file(from folder 'All files for conversion') for GT rom lader. Did I select wrong file? I didn't use file Pansat 2700A_070310_B75_120_api.bin. Is it to be used, in which step? Thank you.

Still in early stages of testing and yes there is some switching issues but all u need to be concerned with is that ur ariza is actually workin like it should...So dont mind the little things that are still bugs as we go they will get fixed...:chicken:

Well u need to jtag at the beginning and then from there u load all files through null cable.. If u do not have a jyag or do not know how to use then be patient ..Hopefully sooner than later i can get it to take all files through null cable.....

People the only true way of doing this will be a jtag. Otherwise future file have a greater percentage of screwing up.

Ok once u load fac bin with jtag. Turn off machine and then unplug jtag and load on the pansat 2700 ract bin with the 27.02 loader.. then from there load on the b75 bin and if it wont load with the bl 1.3 loader then try the 27.02...The 8's goin across is fine just keep loading files they will stop and u must let machine reboot itself after every file do not turn off urself when file done...

Thanks RBBB for the help. Looks everything went alright this time. When scan my 1st sat (G25 for GC) it scans only horizontal TPs and channels. When it scans verticals TV goes blank. Any idea to fix it?

heres my problem and were i get stuck.

heres what i can do.
jtag part.
open wall did refresh.
open unlock and did the earse 3 times.
opened jkeys and did earse 3 times and loaded the VorteX 2700 Factory Flash.

then turned off at the back and unhooked jtag.
then opened gtrom27.02 loaded factory file Pansat 2700A_070310_B75_120_api let it reboot then get the 8's going across the front display.
then loaded the boot file Boot_2700A(b75)_(07)0310 and it loads and reboots but the 8's dont stop flash and cant load the rest of the files.

any ideas.

For those that have switching trouble, here's something you might try:

Make sure your switch is not more than 5' cable length from the ird. The shorter the better.

Finally got a jtag and tried to update. As soon as I started Wall it gives me an error (Incorrect ID Code). May be the jtag I bought it at a electronic store say's it was for the 2700.

Just to confirm the jtag goes in the LPT port. right?

hey rbbb i just cant get it to stop the moving 8's after the reboot with b75 boot file.it does the reboot after the file loads,starts back up and it just keeps the knight rider 8's.any more ideas.

no offence here but you didnt read good enough.says right under file.

Step 9 Do blind scans of sats.What u will notice is that your display shows 8's on it dont worry about it at this point just enjoy and watch t.v........And yes your ariza remote will work on this conversion......

the reason i asked about jtag is because.i can use the 27.02 to load the boot and the other file that needs to be loaded with 27.02 loader.its when you have to switch to bl v1.3 thats were all the problem is so was going to try and jtag all files to it.but i dont think you can because you have to erase to write each file.

Saturday I had it up and running, even watched a movie ( thanks by the way)
but was only getting horizontal transponders, so I reloaded Ariza files just to see if it was a software problem I was having or a hardware, turns out its software.
Now when I use the 2700.bin file, loads fine, language menu comes up, then a warning "Illegal Product", and all goes blank and I can not load any files, and must Jtagg back to the beginning.

still playing with it,,just wont load with v1.3 loader.

GREAT WORK RBBB :) Loaded as per instructions and only thing i find is the timing on the blacklist loader like you say at first sight of the first 8 hit fix and all went well... So with that only pet peeve i have is the blind scanning double's up on channels but no biggie that what channel edit is used for.. Again great job and the new file from chancy loaded like a charm....This is what keeps a great hobby going...

If thats what walls is showin after u reset up and it doesnt change there is an issue with jtag... thats what i have found trust me went through 3 or 4 tags now.. Due to stress....

Truck was nice enough to post a file in the wrong area to try and help ya and thats a one time deal...So i suggest downloading the files again....

My friend tried to do the convert and ran into this problem also. Unsolved as of yet.

look in the pansat 2500 files section. :D Your reciever just thinks it's a 2700. The JVVH is just a compressed version of the 2700a file that can be used on the 2500. :D All those other files you were asking for can be found there also.

Just wondering why it is only you that can't download and extract the files?? I have downloaded them just now to tests and they work and the jvvh files and everything you need for the conversion is there in the two files posted by RBBB.I would check out your computer might be something with it just not sure why you can't get the files to work and seems like you are the only one... And smart ass remarks like this makes it all the better for a guy to help out the community no wonder sometimes people say ahhh the hell with it maybe it is not worth the headache... Any way enough of that the files do work that are posted period....

Can someone write some instructions that make better sense plz? No offence RBBB, but there are a few contradictions and I find it so hard to understand you sometimes.

Like for example Step 3 open up gt rom loader 27.02 and load pansat 2700 factory bin.

What is the Bin called?
"Pansat 2700A_070310_B75_120_api" ?
Boot_2700A(b75)_(07)0310 ?

I'm not familiar with Pansat files, so you'll have to excuse me.

Even the Jtag instructions don't make sense.
On IRD Model drop down choose The 2mg setting
Yet I don't see a "2mg setting"
Click on Program and in the pop up choose the Pansat 2700A - Flash2(28F160C3BD) - Full file.
I don't see "Pansat 2700A - Flash2(28F160C3BD)" either

I'm not trying to nit pick here, just following broken instructions is frustrating. I Jtaged the "VorteX 2700 Factory Flash" with the Jkeys "IRD model - FS-5900" since the chip is the same, and using STi 2M didn't work.

It seems to take the B_75 m file, as the 8's stop nightriding. But I cant use the 1.3 Loader, it always fails, and the IRD 8's back and forth.

Ok Nookie when u done loading the 2700 file then when usin the bl1.3 loader setup loader then turn machine off from the back and then back on when you see the 8's start on display hit fix on loader and file will start loading its a timing thing with the bl 1.3 loader so take your time it will load for you...

I cant edit, yet I figured it out.

So I'll just sum it up, if no one minds

I used the same Jtag files I've always used for the 700 (IRD FS-5900) and walls, same steps, erase, program. I don't think the "unlock" is needed.

Jtaged the "VorteX 2700 Factory Flash" file. Leave the IRD on, but carefully remove the Jtag to be safe.

Hook up null modem and use the "GTRom Loader v27.02 [Pansat2700A - B75]" in the "2700A_loader" folder. Open and write the file in the "2700" folder named "2700"

then write the B_75 m file, again with the "GTRom Loader v27.02"

then shut the IRD off and open the "BlacklistSTBUPDATER1.3" and select the "jvvh_209_pwT" file.

Turn the rear switch on and count to 4, then click the "FIX" button on the BL 1.3.

When its done, shut it off, and load up the jvvh_211_pwTd.

Repeat till you have JVVH_UKR_220, then your done.

i have jtaged successfully 5 arizas, but i have an issue that happens with all of them, when doing a blind scan(with the Ukr_221_pwD_GC_Sspr) (or a power scan with the new CS_221Tv2_Lightning_100t_Series_serial fix) it doesnt pick up vertical transponder, it just finds the horizontal transponders again and duplicates the channels. i was wondering if it is just me with this issure or has anyone else had it?? and is their a possible fix.. or is their something i am doing wrong?? i am using a multiswitch with 2 sats and my settings are all correct, its just funny how it worked fine when i had the mingos fix on it.. and after the conversion i have this odd problem. it is the only problem i see.. other then that it looks like a good fix ( besides the scren showing 8888's lol.. but thats not a problem) any infromation on this problem RBBB??? the odd thig about it is that the ariza works fine with either 221 fixes if i am using my EMP-Centauri 9x4 Multi-Switch (Powered)w/Antenna input and my settings are (sat1 (119) diseqc 1, 22khz - off), (sat2 (110) diseqc 1, 22khz - on) ,(sat3 (91) diseqc 2, 22khz - off), (sat4 (61.5) diseqc 2, 22khz - on)

Are most people getting all the Vu and Venus channel? I need my WFN channel!.

Can you easily try without a switch while you scan? I do get a couple V TP's but not most.

Open windows explorer, right click on wall.exe, click on Properties, click on tab Compatibility. Check mark 'Run this program...... and select Windows 2000. Click Apply, OK. You should be good to go.

realguy88 Turn your Jtag port around on the 700, its likely backwards. The row closest to the front panel is the ground (XXXXXXXXX) side.

I'm going through step by step the "Read Before Starting" file after reading it twice. I'm now in step 2 which says:

Start Unlock Program.
On IRD Model drop down choose The 2mg setting
Click on Flash Programming.
Just as soon as the Pop Up screen appears click OK.
Click on erase 3 times. Leave this progam running also.
Got to step 3

It says to "Click on erase 3 times. Where is the erase button? I've attached a jpeg of the Flash Programming screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

sunhill, Jtag Back to 700 Factory Flash with the Skymax program and start over dont forget to set it to 2 meg, erase and then program the 700 factory flash.

Well I got around to this last night and got it to work after not following the instructions and then following all of the instructions.

Using a 700S. Works perfectly not even double channels as previously reported. I did buy a Pansat remote that works for the 700S.

If you look at the pics it shows what grounds to pin together on the db25 connector.

It does not get vertical transponders, and if it does it`s just coincidence's and all will be lost when you load a new bin, if not when you change channels.
This conversion is based on pansat, which is based on fortec units.
Fortec unit`s (thus pansat) adjust the LNB voltage controller output voltage via pin 206, ariza does this via pin 193. Pin 193 in the fortec is power on too the LNB and sits at a high, and stays there, 18volts goes to the LNB and does not change. If RBBB had taken this into account and reprogrammed it accordingly more units would be up and running by now.
Technically it just can not work as is!

this may have been answered as this is gettin to be a huge section but , error reading IRD dcu peak or whatever is no problem and sometimes not even that the jtag is hooked up wrong , when that happens just close jkeys open wall and it'll "release" or reset the ird , close wall open jkeys , you should get "unknown or unidentified" select the fs 5900 , click flash program then open wall hit "ok" then hit "yes" back on the jkeys part and it should get you in

all i did was solder the 5 wires ( 2,3,4,13,5 ) right to the pins on the board ( couldnt find me a plug ) and nothing to the top row , just when making the jtag solder the 8 posts together ( the ones on the opisite side and a great way to get that done is using the clipping from your 5 resistors to make the ground complete ) then solder a wire with an alligator clip on the other end to the end post of the 8 that you just soldered together and the clip when clipped to the ird completes the ground ( i use the top frame rail or the sat in post ) and voila jtag ready !!! :) hope this helps

Be careful, with this you could damage your unit doing this mod to the point it is no longer any good. For soldering small tip ,low heat (30watts I used) do not use a butane soldering iron, they are just to hot.

If you are getting horizontal transponders now, then you don`t need to do any more jtagging. This mod was made possible by RBBB and are his files used to get here. If you do the hardware mod then factory reset and setup your receiver, this time you`ll have both H/V transponders.
The only thing else would be to load , CS_221Tv2_Lightning_100t_Series_serial_.bin
if you have not already done so.

so basically can you start with step 1 of RBBB's work follow it right through to the end but before you go and hook up to signal for a scan , you do this mod and you shouldnt have to jtag anything else ? like the machine is already gonna understand what we have done with pin 5 to C77 ? sorry for being a pain , just wanna be thorough ( already have the mod done and am scanning now )

Make sure pin 5 is not still making contact with the board. Double check that you did not bridge pins 4 or 6 when soldered your wire to pin5.
Also where C77, make sure your connected to the pad closes to the 5518 chip and thats it not bridging to the other pad of C77.

Make sure pin 5 is not still making contact with the board. Double check that you did not bridge pins 4 or 6 when soldered your wire to pin5.
Also where C77, make sure your connected to the pad closes to the 5518 chip and thats it not bridging to the other pad of C77.
As far as fast relies go I`ll take that as a joke, unless I start receiving vast amounts money from you or an other computer that my son can plays his games on.lmao , no seriously though , you replied real quick man and i totally appreciate it your help has been awesome , , i now have 2 pariza's running with that hardware mod that you posted , the only thing i have noticed is that , the ird's both have rebooted outa nowhere , once i was touring through the guide on the one in my bedroom and just used the "exit" button and it exited alright lol , but when it came back on i didnt have to reset anything , not even the time which was nice , now my buddies ird is in the living room and i went to switch it from nimiq pack to echo pack and the screen went grey and it shut off , again i didnt even have to reset the time , and they have both done it only once in about 6 hours of running . Also on the one in the living room is where i have 110 119 91 and 82 run in through a disecq switch and it find all the bev channels as far as i can tell but it doesn't find all the dish , it's like it only sees one of them ( i have 5 of these switches new in box and swapped em out to the same result ) . Now have read alot in this post and it seems as though this is a glitch still in works , i just wasn't sure if this mod may have possibly helped to remedy the switch understanding .

lmao , no seriously though , you replied real quick man and i totally appreciate it your help has been awesome , , i now have 2 pariza's running with that hardware mod that you posted , the only thing i have noticed is that , the ird's both have rebooted outa nowhere , once i was touring through the guide on the one in my bedroom and just used the "exit" button and it exited alright lol , but when it came back on i didnt have to reset anything , not even the time which was nice , now my buddies ird is in the living room and i went to switch it from nimiq pack to echo pack and the screen went grey and it shut off , again i didnt even have to reset the time , and they have both done it only once in about 6 hours of running . Also on the one in the living room is where i have 110 119 91 and 82 run in through a disecq switch and it find all the bev channels as far as i can tell but it doesn't find all the dish , it's like it only sees one of them ( i have 5 of these switches new in box and swapped em out to the same result ) . Now have read alot in this post and it seems as though this is a glitch still in works , i just wasn't sure if this mod may have possibly helped to remedy the switch understanding .

yeah im with you on the likeness of the change , the scans are way faster the guide is more regular , and yeah the time is nice lol i haven't tried the jvvh220 since i did the mod , but thats cuz i figured it needed to be the 221 by chancysand , and yep as far as bugs go , it's got less than it had lol anyway thanks again

Saturday I had it up and running, even watched a movie ( thanks by the way)
but was only getting horizontal transponders, so I reloaded Ariza files just to see if it was a software problem I was having or a hardware, turns out its software.
Now when I use the 2700.bin file, loads fine, language menu comes up, then a warning "Illegal Product", and all goes blank and I can not load any files, and must Jtagg back to the beginning.

Buteo, Can I ask how you resolved this? I am having the same problem with my second conversion.

You`ll see pin 104 for the ariza goes to the display, the forect pin 104 is the 22 khz for switching switch.
I don`t use switches, so I don`t miss them nor can I test them, just showing you why they most likely don`t work.

Devilishdel, I am converting a 700S and this unit has a completely different board. If anyone has the info to do the mod for this unit would be appreciated.

Unlike the 700 when converted you get all V and h and double channels no rebooting issues but you have to use a 2700 remote to get the epg.

My first unit went well but my second just wont happen.

Be careful, with this you could damage your unit doing this mod to the point it is no longer any good. For soldering small tip ,low heat (30watts I used) do not use a butane soldering iron, they are just to hot.

I was wondering if u had a better picture of the solder position of the connection to go to c77 (kind of blury). From the picture it looks like the wire is going to a surface mount resistor just below c77, and not the c77 capacitor pad. I just want to make sure I get the right position. Thanks

You did remove the SVideo board, right, as C77 is under it. There is only one C77, its an unpopulated part of the board, 3rd unpopulated SMD ( not the round ones) starting from the RS232 chip. Use the pad closes to the 5518 decoder.

I have been down this road before...It may look dead (no lights) but a jtag will bring it back....Make sure your connections are tight when us jtag...... If it responds in the wall or unlock, it will come back.

Got it. Problem was pressing the off/on button on the front of the IRD too slowly. Now doing a scan of birds as a Pansat.
Amazing, one of the best testing projects I've done yet, bringing the Ariza back from la-la land. :D

Yes it is a bit finicky with coax out. Nothing a quick channel change on the TV won't fix.

Nope.

The Jtag solution is the only one so far.

If you don't want to make a Jtag, you can buy as they are very inexpensive.

RBBB's instructions are very good if you take the time to read and understand them.

There is almost always someone in chat that can help you out.

Whatever you decide is up to you but I can confirm that it worked for me and I am happy, happy, happy.

have a small problem, wondering if anyone else has gone through this..
Did a conversion, soldered a wire - everything seem to be OK. Seems to be getting intermittent signal on some of the transponders - the quality jumps from 0% to 90% non stop. I rechecked my soldering (that pin 5 is tricky) - everything seems to be OK. 2 vertical and 1 horizontal transponders are affected. Wondering if this is even related to the conversion or LNB. Can anyone shed some light?

Do a hard boot(back switch) and let keys roll?Do a factory reset and redo settings and scan again?

Have you been keeping up with the updates or is this a fresh conversion? Did you switch from useing New Phase for a long time and then to Pariza updates or visa versa? Check to see if the skew is working right-changeing values. I've had mine lose the control of the skew after an update and it would stay at zero. Therefore no signal,no channels. Factory reset did take care of that.There is a newer "BOOT File" for the converted units to get everyone on the same page to speak of, you might try that? Also if memory serves me correct,we used to have to Power scan after some of the infamous Mingo files sometimes to get signal,I know don't use that name!!!!:eek:
