Plug & Play 5000HC
Ok, no more teasing. Here it is.
This document will guide you through the process of removing your Hard Drive and installing it in an external enclosure so that you can mount it to a personal computer via a usb port. It will also provide the steps to installing an internal cooling fan to the unit itself, if you choose to do so.
The benefit of these changes are…
1) Super fast transfers of video files to your computer.
2) Eliminates the need to disconnect the entire unit to take to a computer.
3) Allows your family to watch TV while you copy files.
4) Your unit will run MUCH cooler & more reliably.
You may wish to use the current down time to implement this modification. If you choose to do this mod, you will never look at your 5k the same way again. One word comes to mind... FREEDOM!!!
