I have a 2500a Pansat that I would like to convert to a 2700a to be able to test with. My problem is the serial port does not work, but JTAG does. I am wondering if there is a way to JTAG the entire process of converting and loading the active bin? If there is a way....could you provide some guidance on where to look.
Thanks everyone for your help

Pansat 2500 POC Upgrade to 2700 Code - for the real testers....
Pansat 2500 POC Upgrade to 2700 Code
Here is the Pansat 2500 STI 5518 Proof-of-Concept File, which enables the 2500 to experience the existing features of a 2700, including improvements to A/R, Scanning, Clock and International Sats.
Warning: The 1M Flash created by jvvh5897 was repeatedly tested and proven successful and stabile, BUT it must be Jtagged to work. It CANNOT be loaded through db9 straight serial cable. Hence the Flash should be attempted by experienced testers only!
C/P of Download Instructions (Thanks to el moi)
* Remove cover off of Pansat 2500, or FLU, and some clones.
* Hook jtag cable to the receiver. Plug in and turn on reciever.
* Open Wall Program. Ignore the warning. Click Refresh. Then leave wall running, and open Jkeys Program.
* When jkeys pops up, go to File>Preference> then select Parrellel Port. Port setting of 0x378. Then click "OK."
* Next select the IRD Model and choose Pansat 2700.
* Then Click on Flash Programming.
* Then in the Chip/Sector Programming, Click on Erase, and erase whole flash.
* Then Click on Program, and select the bin DUMP_vor_1Mi.bin. Wait for flash to complete.
* Then Close all programs and reboot your receiver.
* You will see one series of Night Rider Lights, and it will freeze on the last light. Wait about 30 seconds for the box to boot up.
* The bin has a channel list in it already. You can do either a Factory Setting, or you may delete the channels in channel edit and then scan your birds. Wait for keys to roll and you are watching both DN and Bev again with working AR. You now have a Pansat 2700!
* All future updates will need to be loaded with jtag at this time.
i don't know if the file they are talking about is still go but a i have it if u want to try but it tells you how to jtag it to 2700 hope this help!!!!

Thanks for the help. I did some research and I found a new bin that is the JTAG release. How would I load that after I have completed the VMOR as listed above, or would I need to?
