I have been testing Viewsat Platinum for a long time now I successfully flashed the box on the 9th, but then after a rainstorm it was doing nothing but searching signal. There are no problems with cable wires from our house to the dish and right now we are only recieving one dish signal instead of two. We thought it was a problem with the diseqc but tonight we bought one brand new and we couldn't recieve any signal what so ever. The only way recieve any signal is the skip the diseqc and run straight into the lnb's but only one sat signal at a time. The dish is pointed perfectly..we have a tester. I'm at a loss of what do next if anyone can help I'll appriecate any that I can get. :)

I have one dish a dish 500, two satellite cables one for 110 and other for 119 3 LNB's..we used to get BEV too..but not worried about that anymore. 1 splitter and one diseqc. We tested power on the cables from the house to the splitter and then from the splitter to the switch all came back good.

Why are you using a splitter? Get rid of the splitter and run 119 to port 1 of the diseqc switch and 110 to port 2. Splitters are not used with fta..

Also make sure before you change any switch's you turn the power off from the receiver from the back of the receiver or you'll blow another switch.

The splitter we are using isn't to splice the signal so we can watch it in two different rooms...we only have one box but we have a cable in the living room and a cable in the bedroom in case we want to watch the viewsat in there. We have had it like that forever..and we are able to pick up 110 and 119 that way.
