never had a receiver with pvr before and wondering if you can just record directly to a 4 gb memory stick or what do you need to do to record and then burn to a dvd?

Bundy give you all the good info. Just remember you have to format the memory stick before you used.

I ve heard it can be done.Saves as a TS file.It needs converting from there to be seen on puter or record onto DVD.
Bundy is pretty smart for a shoe guy.
One thing. You can't just burn a .TS file to DVD and watch it. The file must be converted first. ConvertX or DIVx or many others do the trick.
yes i have recorded to a memory stick but you can not save much

so recording a movie on a 4 gb stick would not have enough memory. to format the stick i just plug it into computer and hit format drive? and to record i can just put the stick into the usb port and hit record ?

16gig mem sticks are like $40 nowadays. Should be good for a show or two?

4 gigs should get you 4 to 5 hours of recording

I think it has to have its own separate power and not just off the usb port.
