how to record the program?

Someone please help me with my new sonicview. I want to know how do i record my fav programme. I really appreciate it................

Also, if you have an external HD and your epg is loaded, you can go to the show you want to record and hit the red record button. a red dot will show on the program that you want to record. That's all there is to it, unless there is a freeze between the time you set it and the time your show starts. Also, make sure your box is reading the hd. when you plug it in, you should get the message to make sure you hit the blue button before you disconnect. If you don't get that, it probably isn't reading it. Getting long, but if you want to record at the same time every week, do like Al said and go to the event timer

Thanks for the help i tried in event timer but still no luck can someone tell me in detail how to do that. I will be thankful.
