remote control stopped working

Mine's fine, what 's wrong with yours ? A more specific/detailed post would be helpful; here's a few suggestions- fresh batteries? Does the "stb" button light up when you press it? Has one of the other buttons been pushed in that row[ tv vcr aux stb ] ? Any sign of life to the remote at all?

Thanx smack for your inquire, lots of life in the remote, stb lites up normaly but wont change rec channels or menu or anything.
i think its a code issue! do you have the stb code? if so Thanx again:)

I know it's a stupid question but did you try new batteries?
They could be weak. :eek: I found they work or don't, with no in between.

Do you have access to another remote? Try it to be sure/pinpoint that it is a faulty remote. If you do need a new one, our sponsors sell replacements...try MaxxElectronics,for example.

SORRY EVERYONE!!!
Batteries need to replaced. Just had not expected that from a one month old unit.


I have problems with the remote also.
It stops working (unable to change channels, or bring up EPG or menu, etc.) every now & then.
It starts working after a hard re-boot (from rear switch).
I have not tried from rmote's power switch; I am afraid tat the unit might get stuck in boot mode.
The STB is currently working quite well (no scrambling of channels whatsoever) with an older file (from early Sept. - 1.84 I think).
Could the problems be related to the use of the older file?
I am thinking of loading the latest file (1.87) to see if the remote problem goes away, but I doubt it.
I will welcome any suggestions/ideas to resolve this issue.
