How to setup my new CW100r.
To any device with RCA outs:
Use the supplied rca to 3.5mm wire and connect to DVB recorder. Then with supplied RCA wire connect the DVB recorder to TV. Or optional component cables.
To a CW unit
Do the above instructions then connect also the straight thru rs232 cable (supplied) from the CW to the DVB unit this will allow for perfect integrability with the unit.
The remote also controls both units seamless.
Turning on the unit:
the red light indicates its on standby:
Press and hold down the power button until the green light appears and the Captive works dvb menu appears.
From here you have access to the DVB recorder menu.
Instructions here are the same if you have a CW STB or not.
Play File
press menu
choose "play file"
in this screen you have choice between movie/music/picture
if using 1MB USB stick it will give you about 25 minutes in High quality (you will need a large storage device)
The DVB recorder will automatically create a folder for your movies.
shortcut to play files...simply press play on your remote...choose video from the list.
Editing File names/ Deleting files
while in the file menu press the (EDIT) button on the file you want to rename.
you can now rename the file or simply delete it.
Formatting the external HDD/USB/SDCARD
select Format after pressing menu
choose storage device type HDD/USB/SDCARD
Press ENTER you will get asked if you are sure press ENTER again for YES/NO
Never remove HDD or storage device when Formatting it could damage the device
To record
Simply press the record button to record current programing.
(you cant watch another channel while recording)
Timer Recording
Set up the current time in the Timer menu
Set up the record start and stop times, frequency (daily, weekly, once) and the quality.
Dont forget to set up your source to tune to that channel at the appropriate time for recording.
Enjoy your new toy!
Here is the formats you can bring to and from the DVB to play on your computer and vice versa.
Video:
MPEG 4 (avi) 720x480
DIVX 4. 5. (avi) 720x480
MPEG 1/2 (mpg vob) 720x480
Audio files:
MP3
WMA
Video quality Versus storage
HQ = 2 GIG
SP = 1.5 GIG
LP = 1 GIG
EP = .7 GIG
SLP = .5 GIG
SEP = .35 GIG
