I bought a Coolmax External HDD Case with a 500GB HDD, when i plug it into the Nuvenio it doesnt list any hdd's attached. Is there a special why to initalize teh pvr and for it to see the hdd?

Nuvenio will only recognise a HDD or USB that is formatted to Fat32 only,
I have a Lacie 500 Gig, formatted to fat32 and plugged in back . so you must set USB to back and choose a program and click on record button. Also you might need some third party software such as Swissknife to format your drive.
