Sonic view 4000 - shutting off

I've had this unit for about a year..
It'll just shut down or the tv will go blank..
Sometimes the front lcd is blank after this happens or it will show a Q or
weird letter.. Remote does nothing.. Powering off and on from the rear is the only solution..

Seems to be getting worse.. Happens every couple of hours now !

Ideas ?

do as Al says and reflash, this seems to happen now and then and im sure we've all seen it, usually factory bin and scans help..:)

think of an FTA like a VHS tape, the more times you record over and over (loading new codes) the more distorted it gets. If you load it back to factory settings its like buying a new tape, and it starts from scratch. Also (more analogies) like defraging your computer.
