Hi,

I have been using Coolsat5000 for a long time. It's been working great with my Superdish. I got all 110, 119 & 121 Sat and all channels. But this weekend Dish came out and replaced the Superdish head(which is the big model in front of the superdish) with a smaller heads but still 3 head modules. They said that it's needed because dish is moving Sat 121 channels to 118 Sat. After what they have done, I loaded the new 168bin and I am getting all scramble channels except for the Dish advertising channel. I even deleted all Sat channels and did a rescan on 110, 119. The problem now is that I don't get anything from Sat 121 and CoolSat 5000 can't locate 118.

Question, should the new head affect(scramble) coolsat5000 so much that I can't see the channels now? Is there a justment that I need to make on Coolsat 5000?

Anyway to find Sat 118 so that I get my channels that used to be on 121?

Thanks.

Actually I have been experiencing the loss of signal on some DN channels on 110 while the signal on all the rest are staying at 97% quality on the same sat. (110) Channels that I am loosing signal on sometimes are: Boomerang,Hallmark,Hbo,Cinemax really only getting network and ppv channels when this happens. Doesn't happen very often but was wondering if they are moving sat. causing this problem?

They are supposed to remove the head, put in new head and that's it. They should not have changed the switche setting. In fact, I didn't see them touch the switch at all.

By the way, I see strong signals on 110 & 119. After a new scan and when I got to those channels, it's "scramble" even though signal strength is at like over 90%

My bad. I had turned off my autoroll using a previous bin. When I load the new bin back, I forgot to turn it back on and assumed it was the new head caused the problem. In fact it's the head on my shoulder was not thinking right. Everything is cool now.:p

Well any man can make a mistake but it takes a bigger man to admit it!

Good job tracking it down, and a good example for everyone else to always remember to write down and check check and quadruple check your settings before looking at hardware. :D

Just a curious question concerning the new head. Is this new head also receive the hd sat, or just 110, 118 and 119?

That I don't know. But he did say that 118 is carrying the HD. I am not sure if they will put a new HD head or the one I have will also receive HD. My guess is that it should receive HD as well but I forgot to ask him and now way to test it out.
