I don’t know about anyone else but the freezing started to drive me nuts so I started messing around an here’s what I did to fix it.
The main problem I’ve had is I’m using a 2wire 1701hg home portal with a built in firewall. I ran all my Ethernet connections to a netgear DS104 hub then from there one cat5 to the 2wire ,from what I’ve read this turns the home portal in to a modem only ,you can also use a dsl modem of any brand but you have to use a separate hub . I did try a speedstream 5100 but that’s a no go at this point.this is not a prefect fix but I can watch tv now without wanting to kill someone . Give this a try and get back with updates as to how it’s working for you .

okay, AceRimmer, here's what i have in my setup..
1) DSL modem connected to a VOIP ATA adapter, connected to a wireless router..
2) second wireless router in client bridge mode (runnind dd-wrt brilliantly), connecting ihub to my network...
...so where does the hub with cat5 come into play? how might you see this work in my setup? or would it?
i am getting very annoying freezing.. man, every minute or so
