Don't have one crook, but sure you read all the guides and instructions...........should be good to go.

load 2.42 before patch

Patch files need to be used in conjunction with the latest base file which is the 2.42 as pointed out by dishuser. As the name implies, it is a patch to the previous file and is not a complete bin software write.
