Are u pulling a 192. ip from the router on your laptop? You can continue to load sat info etc, using the serial... but you will have to have an IP on the nfusion to watch tv... It has to have a connection to the IKS server at all times.

Dragon, just do simple things: try to connect ur box with modem or router first, then
u will play with it any way u wish. Box updates itself over internet.

standard way to connect...

turn router power OFF

hook net cable from nfusion (rcvr is OFF from back)

turn router power ON and let it boot...

turn rcvr power ON from back

u might need to go into ur router setup page to check if detects the rcvr...

make sure ur using a straight cat5 net cable not a crossover!

Dragonslayer,

Give this a shot My friend:

Hook your nFusion up to the router using your ethernet cable.
With power off to both.
Power up the router.
Power up the nFusion.
Go to:
Menu > Internet
Make sure Netwrok connection is set to ON.
Next select:
Menu > Internet > Network Information
Make sure this setting is set to : DCHP

You should now have an IP address. When the RED Light
on the front of the box is on you are connected to IKS.

Fantastic my friend... I am glad ya got it going... And glad we could help..

One of the great thing is now you can load it through your web browser
from any PC on your home network Freakin sweet...

***Insure all Firewalls are shut down before upgrading***

Note: some folks are having issues loading with IE 7... No complaints with
Firefox...

Turn your nFusion to a non-PPV channel (100 Dicknet / 349 B3V works
great)

Open your web browser

Enter your nFusions IP (Menu > Internet > Network Information)
(if your IP looks like this xxx.xxx.000.005 Remove all leading 0s i.e xxx.xxx.0.5)

Hit enter

User name = Admin / Password=0000

Browse to your file

Click Upload file (nFusion will reset automatically)

familiarize yourself with that a bit... Make sure you are on
one of the channels listed above... You'll like that
function... And it's fast 30 seconds upgrade write
and reboot. These guys just keep getting better and
better...
