I just got this thing and I am trying to load the latest bin so I can continue with set up but i get com port error when i try to follow the set up instructions in some of the treads .It seems to be the same prob i had with the view sat loader 2 then I installed the universal loader nokia had posted and that worked. .I wil go set up my old desk top to get this thing going but it would be nice to use the laptop for future loads.Any input would be great!

jarret is absolutely correct.

control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> ports

right click on the communication port being used -> properties -> advanced

set the port number, hit OK

when u open the nfusion loader make sure the com port is set just like in your system properties

goodluck!

when I open dev manager it does not show ports in the list. Running vista. And by the way what does IKS stand for ?

iks = internet key sharing

sorry about the instructions. i know they are for xp. they follow the same basic principal, you have to change the port setting.

are you using a serial to usb converter thats plugged into the vista equipted laptop?

Device manager

Start > Control Panel > System - upper left corner

Okay if you are using a laptop that CAME with Vista it is safe to
say you are using a USB to Serial adapter...

My Dell Inspiron 1720 has 5 USB ports that have their own unique Com Port
Designation. And they will only show up on Devise manager when the adaptor
is plugged into the PC and nFusion. You will have to play around and find
eash USB ports designation. Probably write em down for prosperity sake.
Vista will display which Com port you are hooked to in Devise manager as
soon as it reads it.

After you find your Com port (the loader only reads com1 thru com4)
Then click the tab on the right (Hilighted in red Below) To change your com port in the loader...

If you reply with your laptop specs I could better help ya... Hope this helps...
