You guys know that it gets frustrating some times when some people do not try to learn how to do what it takes to get TV. A friend of mine is just that person I'm talking about. I went over to his house the other night to load his vs 2000 ultra & vs 2000 xtream to find out that he still had not gotten a usb serial cable for his xtream. I had a moment as I was setting his vs 2000 ultra via usb jump drive, what an outstanding discovery that the VS guys came up with. OK, enough with the ones that seems like they just don't want to take the time to learner. This is what came to me if the vs 2000 xtream was formatted like the ultras maybe I can (load / clone) xtream off of the ultra, what the hell it would serve him right if it F_ _ Ked his box up. Of course I would fix it if it did, well maybe I could hehehe. sorry for being so long winded. The point is that I loaded the vs xtream off of the vs ultra and BAM tv it was gradeifing to say the least. Please if the find has already been posted some were I do apologize for the new thread.

ur lucky that u cloned the VS Xtreme off the ULTRA... and its still alive...

and hope he doesn't face any problems with his Xtreme later on when he tries to load via null cable!

Wow, like Nokai said....your real lucky it actually worked but I do see problems for his extreme later when you need to load via null cable.
I would never recommend cloning a receiver with a different model receiver ever....but then again this is called testing right?

this is the first time that I've went out on a limb to this xtream sense I've been testing. I pretty much do what you guys say to do. the thought came to me so I taught what the hell, I've never tried anything before and to be truthful about it's not my box. besides I have told him time and time again that there is no telling about anything in the FTA world. Heres the way that I have rationalize it, he should have learned after the amount of time that I've spent with him in person let alone over the phone. Hmmm, why are YOU going over to HIS house? Next time his boxes need flashing, tell HIM to come to YOU, with a six-pack of YOUR fav brew in hand, lol. He might get the incentive that way, instead of taking advantage of you.

fifties you are right and the way you called it is the way it happens most of the time, it just so happen to be I was in the neighborhood and stopped by. there are some perks that come along with knowing this guy and that is that he works for DTV so anything that I need as far as lnb's, dishes, cable, ect... This guy has even gave me a suunto tandem inclinometer/compass. I also got a bird dog from another DTV guy that I also help out. But you are right at some point I should let them go, come to think about it I can't because I sub DTV from one of those guys. It's kind of hard to say no but don't you think for one min. that I don't make them wait until I get ready.LOL! YA JUST GOT TO LOVE IT.

I would say if he is that lazy and his box is toast down the line then serves him right really. The reason they don't want to learn is simple. They have read enough to know you can have a bad flash and kill a box and if you kill their box then they can gripe hoping you will replace it. If they messed it up themselves then they got no one to bitch at. They consider you doing the box a warranty of sorts. Next time it goes down tell him you can't find a fix for it and then he will either have to do it himself or con someone else into doing it. And if that one box won't take a flash next time well then you are off the hook as well.

there has never been a chance in HELL that I would ever replace any ones box for any reason under no circumstance what so ever. every one that I have fooled with knew up front that theres always been a chance that anything could happen at any time. they can to try to play dumb if they want to it will not get them any wear, not with me.
